The 2023 event was on April 29
All kids had fun on the water. Some fished and caught. Some didn’t do either — they just had a great boat ride. This year, the Wallenga kids had a great catching day, for numbers, size, and diversity. Maybe it had something to do with their Boat Captain and Co-Captain? Nah, it was the kids!
Having invested most of my life in fishing, and at least a little time in catching, I am still not sure which part of it gives me the most pleasure: the on-the-water part or telling (lying to) others about how it went. I think maybe Jack and Georgia Wallenga have the same problem, but they actually caught nice fish!
Tyler is my youngest grandson. Now 7 years old, going on 20, he is quite a fisherman. But once each year he spends a weekend or two filling 55 tackle boxes for C.A.S.T. for Kids at Lake Pleasant. It brings him a lot of happiness.
