My Passion, Your Opportunity!

Catch Lunker Largemouth Bass in México at the Two Best Florida-Strain Largemouth Bass Lakes in the World! Yes, in the World!! And stay at the Friendliest Fishing Lodge anywhere.

My good friends at BigFishBullies have become partners in, manage operations at, and handle booking for Pro Bass Adventures México, at Lakes Baccarac and El Salto. Josh, Justin and Principal Co-Owner J.R. Rodriguez are revamping operations to enhance what J.R. and Doug King built. Meanwhile, the lunker Florida-strain largemouth in both lakes are enjoying good water levels and anglers anglers from around the world continue to enjoy catching the ferocious bass.

I take small groups down to Baccarac and El Salto, typically on 8-day trips that provide 6 full days of fishing. When slots are filled (i.e. your deposit is received), it's game over until the next trip. So please get in touch with me ASAP if you and friends or family members are interested. If you go once, you will go again and again.

Want to catch the bass of a lifetime? México is a largemouth bass angler’s dreams. My first Bucket List trips to El Salto, with Billy Chapman, Jr. and Anglers Inn got me hooked on bass fishing in México. Then Doug King convinced me to fish Lake Baccarac with Pro Bass Adventures México (PBAM). Now I tend to  prefer Baccarac because in recent years it has produced more big fish (10+ pounds). But it’s a very close race and El Salto's abundance of flooded timber snags still attracts me!

At both PBAM Lodges, the Managers and their staff are wonderful — they are friendly, attentive and fun-loving or they don't stay employed! The rooms are nice (A/C and bathrooms), so is the lake view. The food is fantastic — big meals, excellent quality. The fishing boats (pangas and bassboats) are in great condition, with SpotLock on Minn Kota trolling motors and FFS on Lowrance graphs. Plus, at every water level, in every season, in every weather condition, the well-experienced guides know every nook, cranny, cove, rock wall, hump, point, etc. where big bass lurk — and they can find the bass without using fancy electronics.

By my preference, my groups include friendly people whom I know will be great company and cope well with occasional trivial "surprises." Referrals are always welcome, but I vet strangers carefully because a group-trip barrel has no room for bad apples or whiners. Probably the worst thing I can do as a trip organizer is pair two strangers whose fishing styles are incompatible , or even one of them doesn't share a boat well. It's too far to go to have an unhappy angler. I learned that through experience.

Not to brag (much, lol!), but you might know some of the anglers  I’ve taken to Baccarac: Matt Allen and Tim Little (both of Tactical Bassin’), Justin Seay and Joshua Daniels (both of BigFishBullies), Tom Atherton, the Bergmans (Dave and sons Cody and Ethan), Mike Bodenchuk, Chris Borgers, Randy Bosket, John Daniels, Mike Goodyear, Steve and Kyle Grier, Sandra and Robert Lancaster, Joe Maus, Tony Miller, Doug Moore, Matt Rieser, Lew Southard, Bill Stacey, Mike Sumrall and others. So far, no client of mine has complained about the logistics, fishing, eating or drinking they experienced — especially not about their new Personal Best Bass!

I’ve never been fond of crowds, so one unexpected joy of these trips has been consistently marvelous camaraderie among anglers at the lodges. PBAM's Baccarac Lodge typically hosts 12-28 anglers at once. The El Salto Lodge accomodates 32. The clientele is cosmopolitan and newcomers are enfolded, not distanced. Communal dining areas help build inter-group bridges. So does keeping things politics and religion free! At least 95% of the anglers from other groups with whom I've interacted have been great, freely sharing information about techniques and telling semi-truthful  tales of fish landed and GIANTS lost. If you are interested in a trip to El Salto or Lake Baccarac, contact me at teebeej@gmail.com. I'll probably send you more information than you will read. A deposit will hold your spot, but if you snooze you'll lose — and miss out on catching the bass of your dreams!

PBAM lodges are usually open from late September or October through May, sometimes even into July. August-September, with their sweltering heat and occasional thunderstorms, are reserved for maintenance, staff recovery, and No-See-Ums! May-September and sometimes October tend to be hot (less so if you live in Phoenix), but so is the fishing -- in terms of quality, if not quantity. It's trophy time for anglers who brave the temps, rainstorms, lightning, and those nasty No- See-Ums!

What's the best month to fish Baccarac or El Salto? Everyone wants to know that. Honestly, there are no bad months and the best month is whenever you can get there! Seasonal patterns vary, depending on water level and weather.  I tend to prefer November and January because they are usually higher-water months, with t-shirt weather and not much rain. Topwater lures, crankbaits, paddletail swimbaits, jigs, and Senkos all work especially well in November. By January, bass are already pre-spawn, spawning, or post-spawn, depending on the "winter" weather. Crankbaits and topwater tend to be my first choices then.

8-Day Trip Overview

  • I handle trip logistics & Lodge coordination
  • Clients purchase plane ticket
  • Lodge costs all-inclusive (except van driver and staff tips, guide pay and tips, Big Fish Incentives, tackle purchases)
  • English and Spanglish are spoken, less so by anglers from the Mason-Dixon Line on south
  • Double-occupancy rooms and pangas
  • Daily laundry service (cheap!)
  • Loaner rods/reels available (free)
  • Zero COVID-19 issues at Lodges

Arrival (Travel) Day

  • Clients fly nonstop — Phoenix to Culiacán for Baccarac, Phoenix to Mazatlán for El Salto
  • PBAM van pick up at airport
  • Clients settle in at Lodge, rig tackle
  • Sumptuous dinner and orientation

Fishing Days

  • Wake-up knock at your door, armed with hot coffee
  • Hearty breakfast
  • Fish in guided panga or bassboat
  • Pay guides daily
  • Pre-dawn to Noonish — catch fish
  • Optional Lunch/Siesta break
  • 1400-ish 'til Darkish — catch more fish
  • Off the water by Dark-30 (Why? No navigational bouys on either lake and at night commercial tilapia fishermen come out to play — with 400-500 nets)
  • Before you leave the boat, make sure your Guide is paid everything and more that he is due
  • 1830-ish sumptuous dinner
  • 1930-ish until your age kicks in— smack-talk and rigging tackle
  • Rinse and repeat each fishing day

Departure Day

  • Night before: pack your gear and settle your lodge account (e.g. tackle purchased, staff and Manager tips)
  • Morning of: arise as early as flight departure-times dictate, enjoy coffee and breakfast
  • Depart for the airport in a PBAM van (miss your ride, miss your flight)
  • All the way to the airport, and beyond, lament that you didn't stay longer and dream about when you'll return
  • Catch your flight home
  • Arrive home, start bragging!

The 2025 all-in cost of an 8-day trip is estimated (by me) at a max of $4700. The estimate covers: round-trip flight, double-occupancy room and guided panga, food, drink (water, soda, beer, mixed drinks), staff tips, van-driver tips, and guide pay.

Costs NOT included in estimates: extra baggage, Lodge tackle store purchases, tips above required amounts (but generosity is appreciated) and pre-flight epizootic tests (if required by the USA or México).

Send an email to teebeej@gmail.com for more original, detailed trip information than you’ve ever seen. The packet includes information on the lakes, lodges and PBAM staff, WHAT TO BRING AND WHAT NOT TO BRING, solid tips on coping with Customs, clothes, tackle, sharing a boat, etc. Try it, you’ll like it! And your inquiry won't cost you a dime -- until you book a trip and then start making annual trips back to experience the best bass fishing lakes and friendliest fishing lodges in the World!
